NATURAL GAS
LPG
One of the first main businesses of Bulmarket is the trade in propane-butane gas (LPG), which has been developing since 1997. The company has gradually established itself as one of the market leaders in Bulgaria and the region. We have maintained our image as a preferred partner with consistency by providing high quality fuel and its delivery every day for 15 years. We have a proven authority as a reliable supplier and partner. Every year, the company trades with significant volumes, which are realized mainly in Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Greece and Serbia. Supply streams are diversified, including manufacturers from Romania, Western Europe, the USA and others.
Bulmarket has four of its own LPG processing terminals located in Bulgaria and Romania and over 250 rail and road tankers.
CNG
Bulmarket is the first company to build its own natural gas station in Bulgaria. A long-time partner of Dresser Wayne Pignone – a leading manufacturer of natural gas compression technologies. Thanks to long-term efforts and close cooperation with the organization, the company is building a number of its own natural gas stations in strategic points such as Ruse, Plovdiv and Lovech. Diesel, petrol and LPG are also available at these sites.
Since 2004, BULMARKET DM EOOD has been supplying compressed natural gas to industrial users – by means of trailers or cylinder groups. The wide partner network that the group has built over the years supports industries for reliable access to gas in cases where there is no direct gas transmission connection.
ADVANTAGES OF NATURAL GAS
Natural gas is a primary energy source. It is extracted directly from the earth’s bowels, unlike propane-butane, which is obtained during the processing of petroleum. Natural gas (methane) is one of the most promising fuels. It is environmentally friendly and has the lowest price. The European Union promotes its use as one of the best fuels for Europe’s Green Transformation.
Compressed natural gas (methane) is increasingly used as the main fuel of motor vehicles with internal combustion engines. Oil processing products are mainly used as fuel for combustion engines – various types of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied hydrocarbon gas propane-butane. Natural gas deposits are practically unlimited, because new fields are yet to be developed, and even in exhausted oil fields, solid amounts of natural gas remain.
Due to the same aggregate states of air and natural gas, the mixing between them is many times better and the combustion is significantly more complete. The use of natural gas allows the toxic substances, soot and smokiness of the exhaust gases to be reduced up to four times. The higher resistance of natural gas, better mixing with air, more complete combustion and lack of washing properties means that engine wear is reduced by 1.5 to 2 times. The service life of the spark plugs increases by 40-50%, and the service life of the oils – from 1.3 to 1.8 times. All types of vehicles – cars, trucks, buses, vans and even the huge heavy-duty vehicles – also have the option to run on natural gas.
ADVANTAGES OF NATURAL GAS
Bulmarket believes in the development of alternative fuels and their key role in the transition to a low-emission economy. For this reason, at the beginning of 2013, it became a member of an international consortium of 33 companies from 17 EU EU member countries with a common LNG Masterplan project for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
The aim is to improve the environmental standards of water transport. The development is part of a project of the European Transport Commission and is of extreme importance for the entire European Union. The value of the project is more than EUR 80 million and is unconditionally supported by the commission.
As part of the project, in 2017 Bulmarket DM EOOD completed the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal with a capacity of 1,000 m3 (four vertical cryogenic tanks with a capacity of 250 m3 each), located on the banks of the Danube River, on the territory of Bulmarket port in the city of Ruse. The terminal bunkers river vessels with LNG, loads LNG-powered heavy goods vehicles, and distributes to regions without access to the country’s gas pipeline network. The company has acquired several heavy-duty tugs that are powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), as well as semi-trailers for transporting and storing LNG.
Constant efforts for the development of the LNG industry in Bulgaria mark their progress. Business interest in LNG keeps growing across Europe.
