The Bulmarket company of Ruse buys the first locomotives of its kind for Bulgaria
The Ruse transport company Bulmarket signed today a contract with Softronic Craiova for the supply of two new Transmontana locomotives. They are the first of their kind for the Bulgarian market and are intended for the Romanian division of Bullmarket United Railways.
The new Transmontana locomotives have a power of 6,000 kW and a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h. The machines are the most developed locomotive technology on the territory of Eastern Europe. The locomotive uses new developments adapted to the new requirements: new body, special asynchronous traction motors, regenerative braking, electronic power converters with IGBT, aggregate converter, electronic management and control equipment and much more.
This is another investment in Bullmarket’s ongoing line of state-of-the-art technology upgrades. In a period of one year, this is the third order of brand new electric locomotives, after two “Smartron” of Siemens and 4 of the Danish EA 3000. With this, the total number of locomotives in the composition of the company becomes more than 30 with nearly 700 owned and leased wagons. The renewal of the company’s rolling stock follows a consistent policy of switching to fully ecological means of transport that do not leave a carbon footprint on nature.
A curious fact is that the two locomotives will be named Ruse and Giurgevo, with which the owners testify to the long-term fruitful friendship between the two border towns of Bulgaria and Romania.
